The project assessed cost-effective approaches for hydrogen blending and identified optimal end-use strategies to achieve the greatest feasible greenhouse gas reductions. The study included a comprehensive literature review of regional hydrogen strategies, industry reports, and federal and provincial regulations. In-depth modelling and analysis were conducted to assess the feasibility, costs, and emissions impacts of hydrogen blending. Stakeholder engagement with industry experts and technology developers provided critical market insights, helping to refine assumptions and improve the accuracy of the assessment. A final report provided ECCC with actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Drawing on extensive experience in energy system modelling and policy analysis, ESMIA delivered a rigorous, data-driven evaluation.
