Dan Curwin is a strategic leader with deep expertise in business development, regulatory affairs, and market strategy within the energy and environmental sectors. As a business development consultant with ESMIA, he drives growth by forging key partnerships, advancing government relations, and expanding utility outreach.
Dan has held senior roles at an energy storage company where he led market development initiatives and collaborations with electric utilities, state and provincial governments, and municipalities on high-impact projects. As a consultant, he has supported energy storage and tidal energy ventures, industry associations, and provincial governments on diverse business development and climate strategy initiatives. Earlier in his career, Dan served as a policy analyst with the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government.
Dan holds a Master of Arts in Environmental Practice from Royal Roads University, a Certificate in Public Sector Management from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science from Saint Mary’s University. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Concordia University focusing on cross-sector partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and governance structures in community energy projects.
